Born and brought up in a small village of Bagru, my dreams and expectations were as humble as my life and background. Lioness Tile came as a wonderful opportunity for me to learn something new and be independent. Though I was nervous while making my first tile, the experience in itself was exciting. From mixing colours to experimenting with designs, everyday it is a new learning and a new opportunity to grow. My family too is very happy about my involvement in this venture because of the safe and friendly atmosphere we get here. I believe that such projects can serve as a platform for rural women to move outside their comfort zones and do something exciting and creative and be recognized for their efforts.
* Mamta is a native of Bagru village and our first artisan, who is now adept in making tiles. Previously, she was working in other factories as a daily wager.
