The standard thickness for cement tiles is ⅝ inch or 15.5mm. While porcelain tiles range from ¼ inch to ¾ inch and ceramic tiles range from ¼ inch to ⅜ inch.

While the design of cement tiles attracts many buyers, the thickness can be a challenge in remodels because many floors and subfloors are set up for smooth transitions with these thinner tiles.
